Services

Web site design & development

A complete web design service. I work within your brief to design, code and launch a site. I can build a static site, but prefer to use a CMS to give you access to edit and update your content. I love Wordpress, but am able to work with various CMSs to suit your requirements.

Front end development

Working from an existing design, I produce a pixel perfect web site using clean, semantic HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Web Standards

All of my sites are built with accessibility as a top priority. W3C web standards are adhered to, and all pages aim to validate to XHTML 1.0 strict or draft HTML5. CSS is used to style web pages, and the principles of progressive enhancement are adhered to to provide an enhanced experience to users with a modern browser.

This helps less able users to access the site easily, but also provides a well formed document for search engine indexing. A lean HTML document with semantically correct markup presents the relevant information to search engine indexes, and helps to direct high quality traffic to your site.

About Andrew

By day, I am a front end web developer at Mint Digital. If you have a big project you'd like to work together on then why not get in touch with Mint?

If you are interested in working with me on a smaller project, please get in touch directly — I'd love to hear from you!

Colophon

This site is made of HTML5, CSS, a small sprinkle of jQuery and is powered by Wordpress.

Content aligns to six grid columns measuring 140px, with a 20px gutter. Vertical alignment fits to a 21px measure, 1.5 times the body text size of 14px. The grid can be shown by holding G on your keyboard, and can be made to stick by tapping H at the same time. This little piece of magic is courtesy of hashgrid.

The typeface used is FF Tisa Web Pro and is served by Typekit — an excellent service which I would recommend.
